Mobility Product Owner

Concannon Business Consulting (CBC) is looking for an experienced, customer obsessed Program Manager who will provide on-site client support (currently remote for the duration of COVID-19 shutdown). The first client project will support our automotive client as a “Mobility Product Owner”.

About the Position 
The Mobility Product Owner will be part of a highly talented team responsible for creating new digital products and services for the next generation of connected vehicles for our large automotive OEM client located in Plano, TX. The Mobility team is responsible for building and managing connected vehicle platforms, supporting product research using vehicle sensor data and creating new and exciting data services for customers that make driving safer, more convenient and fun. Below are the responsibilities:  
  • Work with the Chief Product Owner (CPO) and stakeholders to help develop and evolve the overall product vision and prioritize product requirements
  • Be an expert in all aspects of your product so that you can help your team make smart decisions, communicate externally and educate others
  • Collaborate with architects and business to find innovative and creative ways to solve customer problems
  • Manage and refine the product backlog, write user stories and perform release planning
  • Act as the voice of the customer in the design and development of telematics cloud software products
  • Work across multiple customers to determine common requirements, synthesize and document them
  • Continuous ideation with the business about upcoming opportunities and enhancements that will create additional value
  • Articulate business and customer value to development team and use it to guide iterative development
  • Perform user experience testing and create ways to continuously gather feedback to incorporated into the product
  • Work closely with development team, Scrum Master and participate and lead Scrum meetings
  • Use Agile principles to align teams with effective communication and transparency
  • Adapt to changing priorities and account for necessary adjustments
  • Learn and follow market trends in the connected automotive space
About You 
This is what you should possess to be successful in this role: 
  • 8+ years minimum product management experience building and launching high-tech consumer facing software products
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to think innovatively. Capable of coming up with creative solutions and comfortable being set loose without a lot of direction
  • Experience developing and managing a product roadmap
  • Experience working with Data Scientists on projects that are R&D focused using Machine Learning (ML) and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Hands on experience creating user stories with a development team
  • Experience working in a fast paced Agile/Scrum environment
  • Good understanding of the principles of user centered design
  • Experience working with product designers and are passionate about great user experiences
  • Ability to choose the right research or validation technique to learn about the desired experience, test assumptions and address risks
  • Comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty
  • Strong communication skills; confident in expressing your point of view from a position of knowledge and experience
  • Receptive to feedback and open to revising your plans when appropriate
  • A degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or Entrepreneurship would be of great value in this position, but if you’re smart and have the experience that backs up your abilities, then talent trumps degree
  • Ability to be located onsite with the client during normal business hours (or ability to work from home during normal business hours during COVID-19)
  • Travel may be required 10% of the time (pending COVID-19)
  • Fluent in English
